Precautions for adding electrolyte to forklift battery for the first time

1. If something accidentally falls into the forklift battery when adding electrolyte, do not use metal objects to remove impurities, but use wooden sticks to remove impurities. Enter the battery to form self-discharge and damage the battery.

2. The height of the electrolyte filling should be 10 to 15 mm higher than the electrode plate. For a battery with two red lines, the electrolyte should not exceed the red line marked above, otherwise the overflowing electrolyte will overflow from the small hole in the battery cover. It is well known that the electrolyte is conductive, and once it flows between the positive and negative electrodes of the battery, the battery circuit will self-discharge. In this case, the electrolyte should be wiped off, or rinsed with boiling water.

3. During the charging and discharging process of the forklift battery, the water in the electrolyte will gradually decrease due to electrolysis and evaporation, resulting in a drop in the electrolyte level. If it is not replenished in time, it may shorten the service life of the battery. Distilled water should be replenished in time, and drinking pure water should not be used instead. Because pure water contains a variety of trace elements, it will cause adverse effects on the battery.
